After many, many months of waiting, the update for Facebook’s iPhone application is finally here. It posted to the app store this week, and I quickly downloaded and installed it. Installation was not without problems, as once it finished, I’d attempt to open the program only to see the Facebook logo for a few seconds as the app tried to open, and then back to my app main screen. Try again … same result. Restart iPhone … same result. Last attempt to repair worked – I uninstalled the app, restarted my iPhone, re-downloaded and installed the app and then found success.

I’ll admit it right now, I’m a facebook addict. The iPhone has really enabled me to effectively update my page and stalk my friends whenever I have a minute of downtime. Riding in the elevator, stuck in traffic, waiting in line for a sandwich at Quiznos – you name it, I’m taking a glace through my friend feed and seeing what’s up. I love that the people I know from first grade have conversations with the people I know from work and the people I know from college – and that they all have things in common (not just me!). Facebook has brought back friends that I thought I had lost touch with forever, and the little iPhone app makes it easy for me to keep up with what they’re doing and not lose track of them again.
So if you haven’t downloaded the update yet, cruise to the app store on your iPhone and click update. And if you have problems installing, re-read the first paragraph of this blog post and you’ll be updating your profile in no time.
And while we’re on the subject of Facebook, a Facebook friend from my last job posted a link today in her feed about privacy online, and it’s really quite scary what this network knows about you just from answering those stupid quizzes. So check this link out, and then go tighten up your privacy settings. It’s vital!
